Can you recommend a battery meter?

I have successfully installed the xfce-power-manager however there is an 'x' next to the icon in the panel.
I have since found the 'battery monitor' in the panel settings. Hovering over it shows "No battery found".
There is a battery installed, and the PowerBook runs off battery successfully (I have used the lights on the battery to determine the level of charge).

sudo nano /etc/modules
add the following at the end:

ctrl-x and y to save

Thank you, this, too, has worked!
